Our Purpose
The Waiōtahe Watercare Group was formed by local farmers and community members who recognised the need to take collective responsibility for the health of our river.
What began as a response to water quality concerns has grown into a long-term commitment to protect and restore the Waiōtahe catchment.
We work alongside landowners, iwi, community groups, and partner organisations to find practical, sustainable solutions that improve environmental outcomes while supporting the people who live and work here.
Our focus is simple:
To protect the river, strengthen our community, and ensure future generations can continue to benefit from a healthy and thriving Waiōtahe.
